Three games. Three different opponents. Three 1-goal losses.
After a tough week that pushed the Lake Erie Monsters outside the top eight in the standings, they look to rebound against Toronto on Wednesday and Houston Friday and Saturday.
Once as high as fourth in the standings, the Monsters are currently tied for 12th place in the Western Conference with San Antonio.
Last week, the Monsters were shut out by former Avs prospect Cedrick Desjardins amd the Hamilton Bulldogs by the score of 1-0 on Dec. 11. Two days later, they lost in a barn-burner 7-6 to North Division opponent Rochester. Saturday, they fell behind Chicago and lost 3-2.
The problem is not putting pucks in the net. It is keeping pucks out of the net. Lake Erie has surrendered a league-worst 88 goals in 27 games.
