Prescott Valley, Ariz. - Denver played rival Arizona close in the first and third periods but the Sundogs found the back of the net three times in the second in 5-3 victory Wednesday at Tim's Toyota Center.
Derek LeBlanc, Kyle Schussler and Jeff Kyrzakos all scored in the middle frame for Arizona. Kyrzakos also scored in the first period and Chad Nehring added one late to seal the win.
Sundogs kept the pressure up all game, firing 42 shots on goal. Kyrzakos' second goal chased Kieran Millan from the game. He stopped 24 of 28 shots. Kent Patterson finished the game in net, making 13 saves.
Captain Troy Schwab was apart of all three goals, scoring one and assisting on the other two. Aaron Gale scored a power play goal and added an assist. Gale leads the team in goals (6) and points (14). J.P. Chabot notched the other Denver goal.
Adam Russo earned the win for Arizona, stopping 23 of 26 shots.
The Cutthroats play Arizona Friday and Saturday to continue their three-game road trip.
